Committed to preventing family and domestic violence

Providing trauma-informed and culturally appropriate supports to young people and families at risk

Gr8motive is committed to preventing violence against women and domestic violence in general. Through our partnership with ITEC Family, we offer access to culturally appropriate supports, backed by the expertise of practitioners with specific Domestic Violence qualifications.

Our experience, community connections and work delivering day-to-day support activities in a variety of areas, means we understand that the dynamics of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and how these relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities.

Indigenous women are far more likely to experience violence, and to suffer more serious violence, than non-Indigenous women.

Services we offer include:

  • attendance and support at court proceedings
  • advice and support to access victim support packages and associated recognition payments
  • advice and support to access safe housing, income support, family lawyers and counselling services
  • specialist support for children who may have been exposed to violence or directly victimised.

We leverage existing respectful working relationships with referral pathways in local Indigenous Communities.

As an organisation, we believe there is NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE and are passionate about the fact that all Australians count, regardless of gender, cultural background, sexuality, age, disability and socio-economic status etc.

Please call police or ambulance on 000 if you are in immediate danger.
