Culturally appropriate support services for the Indigenous
Gr8motive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation (Gr8motive) is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation, led by a team of proud indigenous Australians. We advise in collaborative delivery of socially supportive, human rights focussed services. Our mission is to create opportunities for Indigenous people through providing culturally appropriate supports tailored to the needs of our clients and their communities.
Family and youth programs to increase knowledge, skills and confidence in individuals and communities
We empower Indigenous Australians to improve their knowledge and skills and gain better access to mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing services within their region.
Based on local community knowledge and connections, Gr8motive’s programs aim to educate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about mental and chronic illness, the long-term effects of substance abuse and how to build rewarding lives for their family, community and future generations.
We deliver customised, culturally appropriate programs for Indigenous children, youth and families, covering child protection, housing, employment and training, cultural reconnection, justice orders and rehabilitation, disability, mentoring and trauma counselling.
Existing community connections and wrap-around supports
As an Indigenous led organisation, our team has existing community connections built through the work we do, but also through bloodlines and marriage networks. We bring experience working in both government and non-government roles and in delivering important government contracts On Country and in metropolitan areas. We work with cultural mentors, local Elders and community organisations to ensure a wrap-around service and delivery of essential supports.
Strong and established partnerships to deliver culturally appropriate services across the country
Gr8motive is honoured to collaborate with other socially supportive and culturally appropriate service providers in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory. These include ITEC Group Australia, Indigenous Empowerment Network.
